Topher Lane
I began my career in Lansing, Michigan as a Multimedia Journalist, where I quickly adapted to the fast-paced demands of live television. From local human interest pieces to high-profile court cases that drew national attention, I covered just about everything the mid-Michigan market had to offer and honed my skills as a storyteller and editor.
In 2018, I moved to New Jersey to join MLB Network as a Broadcast Associate. My editing abilities and creative instincts helped me stand out, and I quickly rose through the ranks. As an Associate Producer, I worked closely with talent and producers and earned the opportunity to produce my own shows. I was promoted to Segment Producer in 2021, where I’ve continued to grow as a writer, producer, and team leader.
Over the past several years, I’ve produced a range of studio shows across both MLB and NHL Networks, including the NHL Tonight Scouting Combine Special for three consecutive years. I’ve also field produced at major events like the NHL All-Star Game in Toronto and worked in the production truck at the NHL Draft in Montreal.
Beyond the studio, I’ve taken what I’ve learned and applied it in a variety of creative settings. I direct and TD the Sunday broadcast at the Community Church of Smoke Rise, produce videos for Jersey City councilman and mayoral candidate James Solomon, and shoot and edit travel content from my adventures around the world—from Hawaii to Finland and everywhere in between.
I’m passionate, driven, and thrive when juggling multiple creative responsibilities. If you’re interested in collaborating or think I’d be a good fit for your project, I’d love to connect.
